Our Work
According to the 2023 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority, 1 in 5 Filipino youth (aged 6-24) are out of school. Among the reasons, 12.6% cite a lack of personal interest, 10.7% point to early marriage, and 9.9% are held back by the high cost of education. The Legacy Program is dedicated to supporting students by keeping them engaged in their studies and providing financial assistance to help make education more accessible.
To empower students in their learning, we are implementing a series of workshops and dialogues to achieve five developmental aims: Self, Kapwa, National and Global Awareness, Practical Skills, and Curiosity. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to cultivate critical thinking, foster active listening, encourage collaborative learning, and sharpen reasoning abilities. The insights of both teachers and students play a vital role in our work. Our approach is shaped by in-house research and our relationship with our partner schools as we guide students to take charge of their own education.
Students who complete the program become eligible for our Legacy Scholarship, awarded to those who consistently excel at each workshop activity. These scholarships are tailored to provide each student with the support they need to reach their academic goals and succeed in their tertiary education.

Mabuhay! Legacy is founded on the culture of sharing. We bring our resources to form a community of educators, students, and graduates, supporting each generation in their academic journey. Our team strive towards developing sustainable and community-oriented solutions to engage students in their education.
We award scholarships to help pay for tuition and engage students through a series of leadership workshops to develop academic curiosity and social awareness. These discussions are informed by an ongoing dialogue with educators, learners, and academics, implementing their valuable perspectives as we raise student leaders.
Our network celebrates Filipino excellence while raising awareness about pertinent issues we can all help solve together. We welcome everyone to celebrate with us and help us empower the next generation of youth – they are our legacy.

We have two bases of operations!
In the UK, our team focuses on fundraising and raising awareness of our mission. Through community events, we unite people in support of our cause, welcoming anyone who wishes to get involved. We collaborate closely with Filipino student societies, connecting them with the social and educational realities of the Philippines.
In the Philippines, our team leads the on- ground implementation of the program in partner high schools and local communities. We also collaborate with and support other student organisations, embodying the spirit of bayanihan (community cooperation) as we use Legacy as an international bridge and platform to serve the Philippines.

LIMANG LADDERS
We are setting out 5 developmental aims called the "Limang Legacy Ladders to Learning." These are characteristics and skills that the students are expected to develop by the program's completion.
The term "ladder" effectively symbolises educational progression, representing a structured pathway where each step supports students' learning toward personal growth, higher academic achievements, and preparedness to impact the world.
